It's Rose Festival Time

The kids and I met our friends down at waterfront today to brave the crowd at the opening day of the Rose Festival. We started out on the replica of the Nina (one of Columbus's ships), where the kids acted like pirates...had no idea who Christopher Columbus was! Then it was off to the rides! The kids were great, trying many rides that I didn't think they would go on...especially by themselves. They rode a red fire truck, a small boat and a big slide. After the rides, we stopped by an entertainment tent where a juggler was performing. We stayed quite a while and during the show, the man kept asking for volunteers. Colin would raise his hand and shake all over the bleachers, trying to get the guy's attention. Finally, the man took pity on my little boy and let him go up to the stage to help in the act. I have to say, I had a sense of pride come over while I was snapping away...he was such a good helper! I would recommend a trip down to the festival, but go during the week and do it before 4pm...it's free to get in!

Pretty Girl!

This afternoon, Adison asked if we could paint her nails and toenails. Little did I know that she wanted to be the one to do it! So, I picked out the lightest colors and she chose the sparkles for her hands and pink for her toes. Here she is in action...may I add that it took a lot of control for me not to take over! She did really well. I would recommend sparkles to all mothers, it is barley noticeable and when it drips on the carpet, you can just rub until the sparkles disappear!

My Favorite Outfit!

The kids have been exploring their freedom of picking out their clothes for the day. Unfortunately, these are the only clothes that they pick out! Colin's is a head to toe "camo" outfit and Adi's shirt says, "Daddy's Little Girl"...too cute. I ask them to wear something else, mix it up a bit, but they always respond, "But this is my favorite outfit"! So, if you see us around town in these cute little outfits, know that the kids are loving them!

They Can't Get Enough!

So, Leo went away for a few days last week and the kids and I missed him terribly...especially the kids! Since he has been home, they can't get enough of him. Hugging, playing, talking (a lot of talking from Colin) and just plain being around him. Here is a picture of the kids trying to get their hugs in together. I some how think that Leo doesn't mind one bit!
